Hot-Slip / Regular-Slip / Low-Slip POF Shrink Film: Buyer's Practical Selection Guide

2026-08-11

  • It is a common misunderstanding among buyers that different film slippage grades correspond to different packaging industries. In actual industrial application, POF film slippage selection depends entirely on packaging equipment type and on-site application scenarios, not the product industry.

As a professional Chinese POF shrink film manufacturer with more than 20 years of R&D and production experience, Bairuijia provides customized regular-slip, low-slip, and hot-slip POF films in both single-wound and center-fold types to match all types of automatic and semi-automatic packaging lines.

    1. Classification & Basic Characteristics of Three POF Slippage Grades

    • Regular-Slip POF Film: Available in both single-wound and center-fold styles. With moderate and stable surface smoothness, it reduces friction between film and packaging machinery, ensuring smooth film feeding and stable operation. It is the most versatile grade for standard automatic packaging lines.
    • Low-Slip POF Film (High Transparency & High Friction): Mainly produced in single-wound film, with a small quantity of center-fold specifications available. Features high transparency and large surface friction coefficient. Effectively prevents finished packaged products from sliding and shifting during stacking and transportation.
    • Hot-Slip POF Film: Available in single-wound and center-fold types. It maintains excellent slippage while the film is still hot after heat shrinking. It allows fast carton packing without waiting for full cooling, greatly improving overall packaging efficiency for high-volume production.

    2. Slippage Selection by Packaging Machine Type

    Center-Fold Film Application Rules

Center-fold POF films are mainly matched with regular-slip formula, which guarantees excellent film opening performance and stable machine running.

    • L-type Sealing & Cutting Machine: Equipped with a triangular support frame. Requires good slippage to reduce friction between film and mechanical parts. Regular-slip center-fold POF is the best choice.
    • Corner Cutting Packaging Machine: The machine forms bags first and pushes products into the bags. Low friction coefficient is required for smooth product feeding, so regular-slip POF is preferred.
    • High-speed Reciprocating Side Sealing Machine: Maximum speed reaches 120 packs per minute. Regular-slip POF is highly recommended for continuous stable production.

Note: Low-slip center-fold film can be used on L-type machines but will reduce the overall packaging speed.

    Single-Wound Film | Pillow-type (T-type) Packaging Machine

    • Medium-speed Pillow Machine (about 60 packs/min)Supports both regular-slip and low-slip POF, selected according to actual customer usage requirements.
    • Ultra-high-speed Pillow Machine (up to 300 packs/min)Low-slip POF is the standard configuration. Proper high friction between film and equipment avoids left-right film deviation and ensures extreme high-speed operational stability.

    3. Slippage Selection by Post-Packaging Scenarios

    • Anti-slip stacking requirement: Choose low-slip POF to avoid product sliding and collapsing during storage and transportation.
    • High appearance & transparency requirement: Low-slip POF with ultra-high clarity improves shelf display performance.
    • Fast packing & high throughput requirement: Choose hot-slip POF to realize hot stacking and immediate carton packing without full cooling.

    4. Bairuijia Custom R&D & Production Strength

With 20+ years of professional POF film manufacturing experience, Bairuijia provides fully customized slippage solutions, breaking the limitation of fixed standard products.

    • Precisely adjust COF (coefficient of friction) for single-wound and center-fold films according to customer’s machine model, running speed and packaging process.
    • Independent formula R&D ensures stable slippage performance without losing transparency, glossiness and shrinkage rate.
    • All products comply with FDA and EU REACH environmental safety standards.
    • Provide one-to-one professional selection guidance for mixed production lines and multi-scenario packaging demands to reduce defective rate and procurement cost.

    Buyer Core Tip

There is no “best” slippage grade for POF shrink film. The most suitable grade is determined by your packaging equipment and application scenarios.
